Indian Marble. Early marble traded into Tibet from India. The method of making (note circles on surface) defines source and age as medieval, 700AD to about 1500AD. Hard grey agate quartz. A VERY IMPORTANT Indian craft tradition (and location which has been lost to time) that has worldwide recognition through dZi or gZi beads that were only made at that one place These marble , of course are an extreme rarity obtained from a Tibetan trader.
